In the wake of the Festival de l’Art d’Avant-Garde created in 1956 by the scenographer and director Jacques Polieri and Le Corbusier in the Unité d’habitation marseillaise, our partner Maison Mirbel organizes “L’art Radieux, Ces Merveilles #1”. This summer exhibition, reviving the spirit of synthesis of the arts dear to the architect, takes place from July 1 to September 1, 2026.

In tribute to the festival of avant-garde art, the Cité Radieuse hosts throughout the summer a series of cultural and artistic events organized by Maison Mirbel. For this first edition celebrating the 70th anniversary of the 1956 festival, it offers a rich program with those who embody today’s avant-garde.
On the program of festivities, exhibitions led by artists, craftsmen and designers familiar with re-use, the diversion of materials and the transmission of know-how, but also projections, time for exchanges, creative workshops and conferences.

On the occasion of this festival, and as part of the partnership between Architecture de Collection and Maison Mirbel, Aurélien Vernant, art historian and director of Architecture de Collection, will propose on August 25, 2026 a lighting around Michel Ragon, a major figure in 20th century architectural thought, and its reflections on the avant-gardes, habitat and modern utopias.

L’Art Radieux, Ces Merveilles #1 invites you to look at the Cité Radieuse not as a frozen monument, but as a place still inhabited, where daily life, shops, encounters and creation continue to write the history of the site.
