EXHIBITIONS
“Le Corbusier, Jean Prouvé – Close friends from a distance
An original exhibition on the relationship between two giants of modern architecture, organised by the Musée Pierre-Noël in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, with the support of the Fondation Le Corbusier and the Musée National d’Art Moderne (Centre Pompidou/Centre de Création Industrielle).
Jean Prouvé and Le Corbusier were partners in crime, and over the years and throughout their respective careers they developed a fruitful relationship, marked by shared concerns, particularly about housing and the industrialisation of construction to serve all users. The exhibition takes an intimate, chronological look at their exchanges and what emerges from their conception of architecture, their social vision and the way they practised their profession.
Scientific curator: Olivier Cinqualbre – Architect, Head Curator in the Architecture Department of the MNAM / Centre Pompidou.
A publication is due to be published in the wake of the exhibition.

In partnership with the Musée Départemental Albert Kahn in Boulogne, the Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine is presenting an unprecedented photographic and film exhibition of Paris during the Belle Epoque. The autochromes (ancestors of photography) and films on display come from the Archives de la Planète, an extraordinary operation led by banker and patron Albert Kahn, whose aim was to “establish a record of humanity caught in the midst of life”, at a pivotal period in European history.
VISITS
Guided tour of l’Ange Volant in Garches

To mark the Heritage Days, the Ange Volant, a magnificent Italian-style house, is opening its doors to the public.
Designed by the famous Italian architect and designer Gio Ponti (1891-1979) in 1927 for the Bouilhet family, the villa combines classic proportions with modernity. A true work of art in its own right, with the architect having designed everything down to the door handles and custom-made furniture, this house is Gio Ponti’s only work in France.
A unique opportunity to discover the prolific and luminous universe of a genius designer!

Recently awarded the “Remarkable Contemporary Architecture” label, the Villagexpo in Saint-Michel-sur-Orge was built in 1966 to a master plan by architects Andrault and Parat. 360 houses of 22 different types, designed by leading architects of the day, were built around a central square containing an exhibition hall, a primary school and two teachers’ lodgings built by Jean Prouvé.
For the Heritage Days, the Villagexpo Association, set up by local residents, is offering a walking tour featuring an exhibition on the Jean Prouvé Hall renovation project.
Baie des Anges Marina visit

Between Antibes and Nice, this group of stepped buildings designed by André Minangoy between 1969 and 1993 seems to wrap around itself, representing titanic waves or immaculate sailing ships. The project provoked fierce controversy at the time of its construction, due to its gigantic scale and the visual barrier it created on the seafront.
Now a symbol of the region, it is the subject of guided tours organised by the Villeneuve-Loubet Tourist Office.
