Desplans was founded by Guillaume Dubois Orvelius and Albane Cartier-Bresson in 2015, bridging Paris and Stockholm.
As a drawing publisher, Desplans provides the opportunity to purchase works by renowned architects like Rudy Ricciotti, Constance Guisset, Álvaro Siza, Asplund, Claude Parent, and Auguste Perret as certified limited editions.

The gallery was established on the recognition that there is a continuous creation of high-quality architectural drawings that are not widely accessible to the public, despite their significan artistic value. Far from the preconceived idea of the technical plan, the works proposed by Desplans challenge the perception of the architect figure, reduced to his function as builder.

Their carefully curated selection of sketches, photographs and collages all unveil the abstract and stylized origins of the creative process, rather than its completed form. These productions document the unfinished works of modern and contemporary architectural firms, rarely exhibited, and restore the status of the architectural drawing.

In 2022, Desplans expanded its scope to include drawings by designers, artists, and luxury houses such as Hermès, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Chanel.
The gallery Desplans exhibited at the Pavillon de l’Arsenal during Paris Design Week in 2018 and collaborates with cultural institutions such as Villa Noailles, the Conran Shop, A’A’, the Design Museum Gent, and several schools of architecture.
In 2024, Desplans is a partner of the Claude Parent Prize with Jean Nouvel as jury director, and is helping Architecture de Collection to redesign its new space, cell 418 in the Unité d’Habitation in Marseille.
