Description
A patio house in the heart of Paris
Nestled quietly at the back of a courtyard, this contemporary house spans 155 m² of living space and features a 30 m² outdoor patio, right in the center of the capital.
The ground floor opens onto an entrance leading to a spacious living area with an open-plan kitchen, living room, and dining room. This L-shaped space naturally extends to the patio.
This level includes a master suite and a second bedroom with an en-suite shower room. The second bedroom benefits from an independent entrance and a private outdoor area, allowing for the possibility of creating a self-contained studio.
A staircase, bathed in light from a skylight, leads to the upper floor with the night spaces. Two additional bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms, a dressing room, and separate toilets complete this level.
A studio can be purchased separately and easily connected to the ground floor, offering various usage possibilities depending on your needs.
Located in the 11th arrondissement, this property enjoys an ideal location just steps away from Place de la Nation and its numerous transportation options.
The neighborhood offers a wide range of services (local markets, restaurants, and shops), a variety of leisure activities (green spaces, cultural venues), and educational institutions.
Rehabilitation and the pursuit of harmony
The project for this townhouse was born from the transformation of a former printing house into a residence. Initially an empty ground-floor space, its conversion into a home raised numerous challenges.
Focused on light and perspectives, the architecture establishes a relationship with space both horizontally, through the patio, and vertically, via the void created on the ground floor, topped with a Velux skylight. These two elements, central to the project, articulate the various spaces of the house. They are also essential for the circulation and diffusion of air and light.
The architecture stands out for its simplicity and attention to the lifestyle of its occupants. The architect favored the use of natural and durable materials requiring minimal maintenance, such as oak parquet, polished concrete, and red cedar used for the patio facades. The overall design reflects an approach where materiality, light, and spatial organization harmoniously contribute to the quality of the living environment.
