Following the cancellation of its 2020 edition, FIAC is launching an online platform from 2 to 7 March.
Internet users will be able to take a virtual stroll through the viewing rooms, online exhibition spaces featuring exhibitions of contemporary art, design and modern art presented by 208 galleries from 28 countries. Developed by Artlogic, the platform has been designed as a fun, ergonomic tool for browsing works and pages dedicated to the galleries, viewing objects on a scale and getting in touch with the gallery owners.
Industry professionals will have preview access on 2 and 3 March.
Bernard Blistène (Director of the MNAM – Centre Pompidou), Saim Demircan (Exhibition Curator), Emma Lavigne (President of the Palais de Tokyo), Jean de Loisy (Director of the Beaux-Arts de Paris) and X Zhu-Nowell (Curator at the Guggenheim Museum in New York) have been invited to make selections of their favourite works, and will be taking part in a series of lectures, available online.
The next FIAC is due to take place from 21 to 24 October 2021 in the ephemeral Grand Palais designed by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte and currently under construction on the Champ de Mars.
The building is due to be dismantled in 2024, after the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games.
