Exclusive opening of Villa Barberis

In 1961, an entrepreneur commissioned architect Guy Rottier to design a modernist family home. With pilotis, an ethereal façade, and vibrant colors, Rottier created a modernist villa heavily influenced by Le Corbusier, with whom he worked during the construction of the Unité d’Habitation in Marseille. The villa has been labeled Remarkable Contemporary Architecture since 2006. The day will begin with a screening of the documentary L’Architecte et le Menuisier (Jean-Louis André, 2015), followed by a tour of the villa.

Saturday, October 18, 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

“Everyday architectures” for the 2025 National Architecture Days

Since 2016, the National Architecture Days have aimed to broaden public knowledge of architecture. For the occasion, a wide variety of educational tools are deployed: workshops, tours, exhibitions, and architectural walks. The goal is to raise awareness of architecture’s role in our society, to highlight its cultural, social, technical, and scientific contributions, and to underscore its impact on shaping the built environment.
