Description

An apartment just outside Paris, designed by Jean Ginsberg

Designed by architect Jean Ginsberg, this east-west facing apartment spans 68.35 m² (LC).

Located in a set-back, peaceful building, it offers views of a tree-lined garden.

The apartment includes an entrance, a separate kitchen, a living room with a dining area, a bedroom with a dressing room, an office, a bathroom, and separate toilets.

The apartment requires a complete renovation.

A cellar and an underground parking space complete the property.

Ideally located at the gates of Paris, Neuilly-sur-Seine is a residential and tranquil town offering all amenities (shops, schools) as well as nearby green spaces, including the Bois de Boulogne.

The town is also well-served by public transport : metro line 1 (Pont de Neuilly), buses, and RER C.

A modernist creation

Designed by architect Jean Ginsberg, the building is characteristic of his work and embodies the principles of modernist architecture : a rationalist approach, sleek facades, geometric lines, and the use of materials such as concrete, glass, and metal.

The architect placed particular emphasis on the comfort of residents and the treatment of natural light. Set back from the street, the residence offers an environment of absolute calm, creating a break from the surrounding urban landscape.

Jean Ginsberg

Of Polish origin, Jean Ginsberg (1905–1983) belonged to the first generation of modernist architects trained by Robert Mallet-Stevens and Le Corbusier. He studied architecture in France at the École Spéciale d’Architecture, where Robert Mallet-Stevens taught, before joining Joseph Marrast’s studio at the École des Beaux-Arts. After completing his studies, he worked briefly for Le Corbusier and André Lurçat before opening his own agency in 1930. His training under avant-garde figures influenced his work, both aesthetically and structurally.

The buildings he designed in Paris, intended for an affluent clientele, combined modern facades with new standards of comfort. In the 16th arrondissement, he completed several buildings with a strong modernist identity, in collaboration with his associate François Heep.
