Description
A newly renovated apartment in the iconic Marina Baie des Anges
Built between 1969 and 1993 by André Minangoy, this massive residential complex, resembling a modern pyramid, stands as a reference in the architecture of holiday living on the French Riviera.
A true symbol of the Azurean coastline, the complex has been labeled a 20th Century Heritage site since 2000.
Completely renovated, this through-apartment spans 90.22 m² on the 5th floor of the Commodore building.
Access to the apartments is via an exterior walkway overlooking the hinterland. The entrance, with storage, leads to a new, fully equipped semi-open kitchen and includes a guest toilet.
The living space features a dining area and a living room, fully open to a large panoramic terrace with planters. From the terrace, an unobstructed view of the marina and the sea allows you to enjoy the marine horizon as far as the Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat peninsula.
The night area includes a large bedroom opening onto a balcony, another bedroom with its own shower room, and a bathroom with a double sink.
The apartment offers ample storage and is equipped with ducted air conditioning.
A cellar completes this property.
This property, located in Villeneuve-Loubet, is just 15 minutes from Nice. The nearby TER train also provides quick access to Cannes and Monaco.
The Marina Baie des Anges residence offers all amenities : shops, restaurants, activities, and leisure facilities.
Organic architecture : between monumentality and southern gentleness
The architect chose a series of four monumental buildings, separate yet united by sinuous lines inspired by the sails of a boat. Arranged in terraced tiers, the floors create pyramidal shapes reminiscent of waves and the surrounding hills. These organic references integrate the complex into its environment while emphasizing its monumental character.
On the façade, a certain regularity and formal purity dominate, created by the alignment and stacking of horizontal railings. This uniformity is made possible by the land-side walkway, serving the 1,300 through-apartments. On the sea side, the insertion of large, temperate terraces, symbols of a southern lifestyle, allows full appreciation of the outdoor spaces, shaped by the curves of the buildings and transformed into green areas. Finally, the marina extends the promenade and energizes the urban complex with its many facilities.
André Minangoy
After the Liberation, André Minangoy (1904-1985) settled in Cannes and Vence, where he practiced architecture with great success. He notably designed the Pierre-Longue estate in Cannes, whose balconies foreshadowed the architecture of Marina Baie des Anges.
This project allowed him to develop a friendship with Mr. Jean Marchand, owner of the Marina Group and partner of the Nouvel Group for the construction of the complex. Upon André Minangoy’s death in 1985, all his artistic and literary rights were transferred to Jean Marchand.
