{"id":1927,"count":4,"description":"<p class=\"subtitle\">The architect of the modern apartment block<\/p>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"introduction\">\r\n\r\nOf Polish origin, Jean Ginsberg (1905-1983) belonged to the first generation of modernist architects trained by Robert Mallet-Stevens and Le Corbusier. He studied architecture in France at the \u00c9cole sp\u00e9ciale d\u2019architecture, where Robert Mallet-Stevens was teaching at the time, and then joined Joseph Marrast\u2019s workshop at the \u00c9cole des beaux-arts. After completing his studies, he worked for a few months with Le Corbusier, then with Andr\u00e9 Lur\u00e7at, before opening his own agency in 1930. His training with avant-garde figures influenced his work, both aesthetically and constructively.\r\n\r\nThe buildings he constructs in Paris, intended for an affluent clientele, combine modern facades with new comfort standards.
