The Salon d’Eté is a new event taking place on 22 and 23 July at the Maison Louis Carré, the famous villa designed by Alvar and Elissa Aalto in 1960 for Louis and Olga Carré.

Some twenty galleries and publishers are planning to come together to present one or other artist in a major group exhibition accompanied by a selection of publications from the After8 bookshop.

The weekend will be punctuated by performances by artists and musicians who will explore the performativity of the Maison Louis Carré, creating links between guests and bringing this iconic architecture to life. A programme of talks in the gardens will bring together influential figures from the Parisian artistic community for informal exchanges.

In the spirit of Louis Carré, the art collector and dealer who co-founded the Comité Professionnel des Galeries d’Art (CPGA) with the aim of consolidating the network of Parisian art spaces, Salon d’Été aims to bring together members of the Parisian art scene for a weekend of conversations through art.
